A half-day workshop led by practitioners from Animade and elsewhere to develop capabilities among those managing all kinds of creative projects.
It’s not just project managers that have to manage creative projects. With the increasing elasticity of roles in busy, creatively driven businesses, project management smarts are increasingly desired and required by a much broader group – including designers, marketers, developers and others besides. And in a world where more seems to be constantly needed faster, these skills have never been more relevant at work.
This half-day session sets out to broaden the understanding of modern project management, examine the value and effectiveness of new methodologies, share strategies and broadly develop capabilities among those looking to get things done at work in an enjoyable, productive and a stress free fashion.
We’ll bring together a group of like minds with relevant experiences and challenges to share; inviting along a trio of project management maestros across the day to present and discuss their methods and learnings, set challenges and inspire new ways of thinking and working to take back to our businesses.
What kinds of things will we cover?
Finding, defining and managing stakeholders (who they are, what they want and what we want from them), setting expectations, sharing and narrating work, saying no, defining deliverables lists, giving effective feedback, check-ins, listening skills, creating calm in the chaos, managing supplies and collaborators, relevant tools and platforms.
Who will be sharing their expertise?
Our external subject experts will be Laura Darby, Head of Production at Animade, Suzanne Neal, Account Director at The Partners and another to be confirmed.
How will the session be structured?
We’ll combine discussion as a group, hearing the perspectives and guidance of our guest subject experts; and put things into practice on the day, individually and in smaller working groups. As with all YCN sessions, we’ll enjoy a hands on combination of sharing, listening and doing.
Who is this session for?
People who manage projects at work. So that could of course be a Project Manager – but we don’t want this to be limited by title, rather inspired by role. Designers have to manage projects brand managers have to manage projects, and there is much to explore that expands across all. You might be new to the role, or with experience under your belt-already. If you’re looking after the scoping, oversight and delivery of things at work sits within your role then there’s lots for you to learn from this session.
