Panelists from Prophet, Beyond Words Exciting Minds and Mobula shared their insights on using data to design meaningful digital experiences.
The ready availability of data has dramatically informed the ways in which digital experiences are delivered, seemingly enabling design teams to provide far more rich, personalised and delightful user journeys. But theory and practice don't always match up: we've all been on the receiving end of clumsy, confusing design that frustrates more than it inspires. Smart, user-centric businesses and their technical and creative teams are blending high-tech and high-touch approaches to meaningfully move us through their worlds, stripping away friction and winning us over to their points of view and products.
On the 10th of April, we were joined by members at the offices of the marketing and brand experience consultancy, Prophet, to hear about how organisations can smartly 'design with data'. Our panel of practitioners and founders shared some brilliant examples of data gathering and visualisation using real-life case studies as examples, and discusses best practices and lessons learned.
Joining us will be Gregg Finlay, Creative Director at Prophet, sharing the consultancy's 'living brand' approach of creating refreshing digital experiences that allow companies to be present and participatory in people's lives; Duncan Swain, Co-founder and Creative Partner at Beyond Words Studio, where a multidisciplinary team applies journalism, design and technology to tell stories with data; John Mulholland, CEO and founder of Exciting Minds, a new venture providing human-centred eLearning software, interval reinforcement and gamified learning, and Jonny Miles, Head of Design at Mobula, a mobile commerce platform that creates best-in-class mobile commerce apps for retailers and brands.
