In Conversation: Pip & Nut and B&B Studio
Panel | YCN Library — For our members

'Chief Squirrel' Pippa Murray joined B&B Studio's Shaun Bowen in the YCN Library, to share the story of their ongoing collaboration.

On recognising an opportunity within the fast-growing market for protein-rich snacks, in 2014 entrepreneur Pippa Murray founded Pip & Nut – an all-natural nut butter brand that set out to disrupt the market by cutting out sugars and palm oil, and using only ethical ingredients.

To stand her brand apart from competitors, Pippa approached B&B Studio with an open brief to design its visual identity. Together they created the characterful and exuberant branding that has made its products so appealing and recognisable – identified by the sweeping tail of a squirrel, which perfectly captures the energy and natural nuttiness of Pippa’s fast-growing business.

On the morning of the 8th of March, we invited Pippa and Shaun Bowen – co-founder of B&B Studio – to the YCN Library. The pair discussed the importance of brand identity, strong core values and personal passion in creating and building an engaging, successful product, and revealed some of the obstacles and successes they have encountered since Pip & Nut was first conceived.
