Join us over breakfast at Koto, to hear from co-founder Jowey Roden on what you learn when you launch an agency business.
We’ve run some great panel events and smaller roundtables at YCN, at which founders from various creative businesses share the stories of their beginnings and the lessons learned since. We’ve heard from Pippa Murray from Pip & Nut, Radio Alice's Emma King, and Oliver Tress of Oliver Bonas; each openly talking over the highs and the lows with those who've come along, who in turn have been keen to share their own questions and experiences.
On the 17th of May, at our next roundtable session, we’ll hear the perspective of an agency founder with Jowey Roden — co-founder of design studio Koto — who'll be hosting a group over a light breakfast at Koto's south London studios.
Jowey set up the business in 2015 with partners James Greenfield and Caroline Matthews, who together have more than 20 years of agency experience. The team has built an impressive list of clients, supporting them in developing digitally fit branding; most recently for established names like Fanta, as well as disruptive startups such as Farewill.
What we'll cover:
Jowey will begin by sharing the story of the studio's journey so far, talking over the lessons that came at key moments. He'll then be taking questions from, and facilitating a conversation among, those gathered around the table — in relation to their own experiences, opportunities and goals
Who this session is for:
We’re opening this up to people working for brands who are keen to learn more about what makes agencies tick, as well as aspiring future founders that may be keen to hear from someone to have recently trodden the tricky path of launching a creative business.
We'll be bringing together a diverse and varied group of eight for this session — please do drop us a line below if you’d like to join.
