Led by regular keynote speaker, author and change consultant Mark Shayler — this day long session is for those seeking to super-size their presentational skills.
"For anyone who wants to grow their confidence when presenting, and learn some simple frameworks for structuring killer talks and presentations, this is an unmissable workshop, led by a presenting grand master." — James Rutter, Head of Brand, COOK
We're forever called on to present today; formally, informally; big groups, small groups — setting out to move people, and take them with us towards whatever our point is. And thanks to the internet our performances often live on forerver. We all instinctively know a good public speaker when we see one. They make it look easy, and seem so natural doing it — devoid of notes, and keeping everyone in the room off their phones and on the hook for what's coming next.
Over the course of this one day workshop — in the charismatic company of change consultant Mark Shayler, and among a group of 12 fellow members — you'll discover how to put more of you into any kind of presentation you'll give in the future. As a group you'll collectively find your individual voices and develop your confidence to share them.
Mark's combination of the personal with the practical will get you towards your own personal take on the right answer. You'll finish the day with a clear sense of how preparation, purpose and authenticity can magically combine to make sure whatever you're trying to get across lands with the audience you're trying to get it across to.
What we'll cover:
Being more you
Making slides work
Or leaving them out all-together
The role of the script
Understanding your audience
Dealing with questions
Dealing with no questions
How the session will be structured
The workshop will deliberately be capped at 12 people, who you'll be giving a short presentation to at the start and end of the day. The rest of the session will combine group discussion, insights and advice from Mark, and putting learnings into practice both indiviudally and in small groups. As with all YCN sessions, you'll enjoy a hands-on combination of sharing, listening and doing.
