As part of our ongoing ZX.YCN programme, we'll gather a group in the studios of Cult LDN for a hands-on exploration of opportunities for engagement through the latest voice technology.
As a follow-up to our Views on Voice panel event, we'll be hosting a roundtable discussion to explore in greater depth the potential that voice-activated devices have to transform the way brands and consumers meaningfully connect.
A survey from Radiocentre released last summer showed that 9% of UK households purchased an Amazon Alexa within the first six months of its release, and estimates that the number will rise to 40% by the end of this year. The penetration of these devices, and the relative speed and ease with which people have taken to them, is spurring many brands on to develop new ways of interacting with consumers — sometimes functional and informative, and sometimes novel and entertaining. These users, in turn, are having to grow accustomed to 'talking' to brands through a different medium.
On Thursday 31st May, we've invited Cat Turner and Jen Heape from digital creative communications agency Cult LDN to host a roundtable with us — at their offices in east London — sharing their research and insights on where the real opportunities within voice interaction lie, why it's a technology worth getting to grips with now, and what the future holds for both brands and consumers.
What we'll be covering:
- Why use voice? What are the use cases, what scenarios is it best suited to?
- What are the current challenges of using voice?
- What changes are we seeing in consumer behaviour, and what can we expect going forward?
- Which companies are using voice in creative and meaningful ways, and what can we learn from this?
- The future: what developments can we expect in this space, and what do we need to be prepared for?
The team at Cult will also be setting up different devices and applications for participants to play around with, and to more fully demonstrate some of the opportunities that voice technology opens up.
Who is this session for?
This roundtable is designed for anyone looking to determine what voice interaction could mean for their organisation, and for the way they engage with their target audience. As well as going through the basics of voice technology, there'll be the opportunity to delve deeper into the issues that are most relevant and pressing to those within the group.
If you'd like to join us round the table for an insightful and hands-on introduction to voice interaction, please get in touch via the form below.
