Leading Now: Building Resilience
Workshop | YCN — For our members and programme participants

We'll explore the topic of resilience with Dr Brennan Jacoby, and hear how to develop it personally and encourage it in our teams.

“What does not destroy me, makes me stronger”  Friedrich Nietzsche

In this two hour workshop we'll be exploring what benefit increased resilience can have on our experience of work, and hearing how we can build more of it into our working lives and encourage it our teams. Being resilient doesn't mean being immune to stress, rather being able to bounce back during times of adversity. Leading the session will be Dr. Brennan Jacoby, founder of Philosophy at Work, who maintains that resilience can be taught, by cultivating a set of strategies that equip us for stress and setbacks.

What will be covered?

- A fresh perspective on the importance of cultivating resilience at work
- Tips for developing both personal resilience and the resilience of those you lead
- Practical physiological techniques for cultivating resilience; and
- How to pick up thought patterns to improve resilience

How will the session be structured?

The session will consist of a blend of discussion and exercises, with Brennan sharing his specialist expertise on the subject gained from years of helping companies to navigate complex issues and bring about positive change.

Who is it for?

As part of our Leading Now series, this session will be framed for leaders and managers with at least one direct report.
