Know Your Bias
Workshop | YCN Library — For our members

Understand unconscious bias through exploring real-life experiences in this thought-provoking, interactive and empowering workshop led by The Other Box.

We all have unconscious biases. They affect our perceptions, decision-making processes and workplace cultures. Becoming aware of an unconscious bias is the first step to changing that; and it can ultimately help us all create a more inclusive and productive working culture. That's the purpose of this workshop — to open up and facilitate conversations that can be difficult and easy to shy away from; and to arm all those along with simple actions and tools to take away, put into practice and share with our colleagues and teams.

Who will be leading the session?

Leyya Sattar and Roshni Goyate. Together they founded The Other Box, an award-winning platform to change the way businesses think about diversity, create role models for people of colour, and provide a platform for under-represented people doing amazing work in the creative industries.

How will the session be structured?

The workshop will combine a series of interactive and engaging exercises exploring how behaviours, language and culture impact the inclusivity of a workplace. Participants will come away with practical tips to apply, and share, straight away at work.

Who is it for?

This workshop is for anyone looking to begin, and further, meaningful conversations around diversity and inclusion in their workplace.
