Lessons in Launching: Second Studios
Roundtable | Studio Koto — For our members

For agency founders, the opportunity to open another studio in another part of the world can be an appealing one for many reasons. And the challenges are plentiful too, as we'll explore at this session.

Scaling up a creative business through presence in a new market can provide the enticing prospect of working with new clients, and new talent, on new projects — and in ways that create new revenue too. But there are many factors that will need to be considered, and problems to navigate, for those spreading their wings; whether it’s navigating tax and employment laws, discovering different approaches to recruitment, finding a story that lands with local clients, or retaining your brand identity in a different (and inevitably crowded) market.

Studio Koto opened studios in Berlin and Los Angeles in 2018, and their MD and co-founder Caroline Matthews has kindly offered to host a roundtable discussion on the topic at her original South London studio towards the end of January. We're curating a group of founders, or agency principles, with timely interest or experience — to join the conversation and share challenges and opportunities with one another.

Please get in touch if you'd like to join the conversation, share your perspectice and take away some learning to support future plans and ambitions.

We build capability

We help organisations of all shapes and sizes to become more capable in pursuit of their goals.

To do this we focus on what we believe to be the three key drivers of organisational capability — People, Purpose and Partnerships. Whether through our open learning programmes, or tailored consultancy work; we love bringing together creatively-minded groups to work and learn in modern and motivating ways.
