A workshop with Emmi Salonen to explore ways to create and sustain a lifestyle which feeds and inspires creative ideas.
We are all under more pressure than ever before to think creatively, and produce imaginative and innovative outputs in our work. Technology has fuelled the need to produce more, better and faster. And particularly in the creative industries, it can sometimes feel like ideas, products, proposals and campaigns need to be churned out at a pace that is not only unsustainable, but can be detrimental for both our wellbeing and the quality of those ideas. Without the time or opportunity to refuel our inspiration and influences, our creative tank runs dry.
Emmi Salonen, Director of Studio Emmi, believes in the importance of pausing for input, in order to create output, and that our personal creative ecosystem needs to be nurtured and cultivated to stay healthy and balanced. Emmi has teamed up with YCN to design a workshop to stimulate a holistic approach to creativity and wellbeing, sharing stories from her six month expedition to explore sources of inspiration, with the aim of inspiring others to take a step back from the everyday grind to reconnect to the source of their creativity.
