Influencing IRL
Talk | YCN Rivington Rooms — For our members and programme participants

If you know you deserve to be heard, and want to make a difference, actively working on your influencing skills is important. That's the focus of this session, led by negotiation maestro Louise Hedges.

If you are unable to influence you cannot create anything good in the world. Louise Hedges, Managing Director at Pip Development, wants us all to enjoy the effectiveness that comes with being more influential, to get our fair share and to inspire change in others.

Over a career coaching leadership teams and advising companies large and small around her expertise of negotiation, Louise has come to believe that influence gets a bad rap and that we can reframe our thinking around it: We don’t need to think less of ourselves, we need to think about ourselves less. With more purposeful perspective taking, we shed our limiting beliefs and make our ideas more important to other people.

This interactive evening session will begin with a short talk from Louise on influence, drawing from her experiences and introducing some of her very latest thinking on the topic. She’ll then get us into smaller groups, sharing our own perspectives with each other and putting some of her practical approaches to influence into play straight away. You'll be asked to come armed with something currently on your mind that you want to influence, and will work on that within the session with Louise's tactics and guidance.

Join us for an invigorating exploration of influence, and to take away new tools to create fresh and positive impact with those around you. Please drop us a line below if you’d like to join the session.
