Influencing IRL
Remote Learning | YCN Library — For our members and programme participants

If you know you deserve to be heard, and want to make a difference, actively working on your influencing skills is important. That's what we'll do virtually for 90 minutes.

If you are unable to influence you cannot create anything good in the world. With influence, we get our fair share and we get to inspire change in others.

Today, the notion of influence often has a bad rap — and helps to reframe our thinking around it: We don’t need to think less of ourselves, we need to think about ourselves less. With more purposeful perspective taking, we shed our limiting beliefs and make our ideas more important to other people.

In this punchy, and practical session joined by negotiation expert Louise Hedges; we'll talk over, try out and then transfer a variety of techniques for more purposeful and impactful influence.

What we'll cover:

• Characteristiics of the influential
• Finding win-wins, quickly
• Listening to understand
• Framing and the power of metaphor
• Defining an influencing strategy

How the session will be structured:

Louise will share observationas and strategies for influence, with guided discussion and practical application individually and as a group.

Who the session's for:

Anyone who wants to become more influential.

Please drop us a line below if you'd like to join the group; and we'll share the Zoom link with you.
