Great Groups
Workshop | YCN Library — For our members and programme participants

Pick up practical and proven approaches to more creative and engaging meetings, gatherings and other get-togethers.

It's likely you'll have been in a group situation that lacked purpose, energy — and impact. Indeed a report last year estimated that hundreds of billions would be wasted in 2019 by businesses due to badly organised meetings.

But it doesn't have to be this way. From setting better expectations and inclusively kicking things off, to creating rich environments (irrespective of what a space looks like) and managing group dynamics — there are many things we can put into play to get participation, energy and value from any kind of group situation.

What we'll cover:

• Principles of flow, and how they apply to meetings and other group situations
• Expectation setting
• Structures and exercises to encourage equal participation
• Tips from leading facilitators
• Managing energy levels, and keeping discussions on track
• How to begin and the importance of ending well

How the session will be structured:

As you'd expect from a workshop on running better groups, we'll be practicing what we preach with an energising mix of instruction, discussion and putting new approaches and techniques into immediate practice.

Who the session's for:

Anyone keen to build their understanding of what makes for a great gathering, and to practice new approaches among a supportive group of like-minds.
