There are certain conversations we dread. But with the right mindset and techniques to hand, these can become positive and purposeful learning experiences.
Few of us enjoy awkardness — but there will always be times where we're called on to have a 'difficult conversation' with someone; whether a junior member of our team, our boss or a builder. It's easy to get stuck repeatedly mulling it over, putting it off or stumbling into a confusing confrontation that doesn't end well.
But with the right mindsets, framing and practical approaches — clearer, more confident communication and stronger relationships are yours. 'Difficult conversations' become 'learning conversations' — and before long you'll be looking forward to having them.
In this positive and practical session, we'll work through a number of these approaches and equip ourselves for those conversations we know we should be having right now, or that are otherwise on their way.

• Rooting observation in behaviour
• Practical frameworks for difficult conversations
• How to begin, the third story, and thinking like a mediator
• The power of 'and'
• How to end
How the session will be structured:
We'll draw on some real-world scenarios, deconstructing some difficult conversations and discussing and applying new techniques in small groups.

Anyone wishing to better equip themselves with fresh and purposeful approaches to having honest and constructive conversations with those around them.
