Rethinking resilience

Rethinking resilience

“It’s your reaction to adversity, not adversity itself that determines how your life’s story will develop.” ― Dieter F. Uchtdorf

We'll together explore the principle of resilience and discover practical ways for bouncing back from challenges, managing stress and using our energy more effectively.

We all face challenging times at work, as in most areas of our lives. We might be great at planning and mitigating risks, but there will always be situations, people and external circumstances that knock us off course, stress us out or shake our confidence — many of them out of our control.

But what is fully in our control, is how we respond to these events. Through awareness and practice we can train ourselves to think and react differently, changing the way we perceive challenges, and using these experiences to become stronger.

Being resilient doesn’t mean challenges disappear, but it does mean that we cope better, learn from past experiences and build an internal stability to thrive in times of difficulty. Over an energising 90 minutes we'll collectively explore different approaches for growing resilience, and share some tools and techniques to take away and apply.

It felt intimate and I really liked the break out discussions, meeting new people and hearing their take on resilience and seeing how it differed from mine. The session was full of practical tips too.
