As advances in health and education drive life expectancies higher worldwide, an ever-growing demographic of older adults is effecting changes that pose complex challenges — in terms of the economy, health and lifestyle.
The new issue of Member Agency Human After All’s publishing project aims to explore how diverse elements of life and society — from the way we work to the way we think about death — are being reshaped and disrupted by ageing populations.
From the science behind ageing, to the life-enhancing supplements that might stave off its effects, issue three explores the manifold motivations, effects and innovations surrounding the subject, through insightful articles from academic contributors and Weapons of Reason’s own editorial team.
The articles are illuminated by infographic insights into ageing — touching on age discrimination in Europe, the rising average age in Singapore, and the growth of adult education in China.
The issue has been created in partnership with The Powerful Now, an initiative developed by IDEO that aims to reshape both the perceptions and practical realities of ageing. By developing a platform to connect organisations internationally and across multiple sectors, The Powerful Now aims to use collaboration and creativity to reshape the way we conceive of ageing, and design for older populations across the world.
