Member and art director Matt Willey has turned the New York issue of The New York Times Magazine into a series of comic strips.
The annual New York issue of The New York Times Magazine is a playful opportunity to celebrate the most populous city in the USA – and the latest edition has been given over entirely to comics.
An idea proposed by Member and art director Matt Willey, the magazine spotlights some of best stories from The New York Times Magazine over the past 15 years, as well as those deserving of more coverage, through a variety of cartoonish illustrations.
From an unadorned love story to a tale of a lost dog, each feature has been interpreted by hand in a number of illustrator’s signature styles, including Bill Bragg, Tom Gauld and Andrew Rae.
