Alun Callender's recent work provides windows into the workspaces of three creatives from different industries.

Recent work by Alun Callender includes three separate commissions, all of which provide an intimate look into the workspaces of creatives from different industries.

This includes a commission for Goodwood magazine, where Alun photographed Private White V.C.’s Creative Director, Nick Ashley. Taken in the fashion brand’s Manchester textile factory, the photo series celebrates “Made in Britain” fashion.

The second project was for Crafts magazine; Alun shot furniture designer Tom Raffield at work in his Cornwall studio, capturing the precision and craft behind his unique, woodwork creations.

Finally, a commission for Ditching Museum of Art + Craft saw Alun return to a studio space, this time to photograph artist Cathie Pilkington in her East London workshop. This followed the museum’s exhibition on Eric Gill which Cathie co-curated.

All three projects showcase Alun’s passion for portraiture, building a sense of intrigue and narrative around creative individuals in their everyday spaces—a theme typical of Alun’s work.
