Building tolerance for uncertainty in teams, for our ever-changing times.
While a sense of uncertainty in modern life and work may be inevitable, struggling through it doesn’t have to be. And whether you're thinking about your next career move, dealing with personal doubt, facing confusing client expectations or feeling the pressure of leading others through a difficult patch — there are proven, practical ways to progress with a greater sense of calm and proactivity.
Through an energising and evidence-led blend of elements, our Managing Uncertainty programme will help your build the resilience, confidence, and toolkit needed to manage your emotions, make decisions with confidence and support those around you when things feel ambiguous and unpredictable.
You'll experience how, with the right mindset and skillset, the uncertainty that once felt like a roadblock can become something that propels you forward. This programme will help you reframe your thinking, finding ways to turn uncertainty into opportunity for yourself and others.
Managing Uncertainty Programme
The elements of development
At the outset you'll reflect on your current tendencies in times of change, and create a benchmark of your tolerance for uncertainty — something to measure against in time too.
Across the programme's three modules, you'll be offered evidence-led tools and experiments for increasing your uncertainty tolerance — creating experiences and evidence to bring with you into the live workshops.
Each of the three modules will include a collaborative, facilitated workshop — hosted in-person or virtually — and creating space for social connection, peer learning and digging deeper into tools together.
Managing Uncertainty
Your three programme modules
Uncertainty feels uncomfortable, but it doesn’t have to hold us back. Linking to your Reflective Assessment, this opening module will help you understand why uncertainty triggers stress, recognise your personal response patterns, and start to form an action plan for shifting your mindset — seeing change not as a threat, but as a space for growth and possibility.
Resilience isn’t about avoiding uncertainty, it’s about being proactive and prepared. In this module, you’ll explore practical proactive strategies for staying flexible, making confident decisions when all the information isn't available, and leveraging your strengths in times of unpredictability — while helping others to do the same.
Your third module focuses on leading with clarity, building psychological safety, and guiding peers and teams through change with confidence. You’ll learn how to foster trust, communicate in a way that makes the implicit explicit, and actively mitigate uncertainty for others in all kinds of contexts.
Our Managing Uncertainty programme content has been developed with leading subject-matter experts in the field — like clinical psychologist, and trauma specialist Dr. Sam Akbar (pictured) — and is grounded in significantly peer-reviewed behavioural models (such as Self-Determination Theory, Ryan & Deci). Your evaluation of your own experimentation throughout will further help enrich evidence of impact, and refine the programme for future participants.
