We'll increase understanding of neurodiversity, turning awareness into instant action by identifying proactive approaches to workplace adjustments (all within our control) that anticipate common challenges, and help everyone to play to their strengths.

Join a group of fellow people-managers, and peers, for an enlightening session led by Dr. Anne Cockayne, alongside a YCN coach-facilitator. We'll draw on Anne's extensive work around neurodiversity and latest research into the relationships between managers and neurodivergent team members.

Together we'll learn about the neurodiversity paradigm, neurodivergent characteristics and strengths, explore relatable workplace scenarios — and stimulating our thinking about what adjustments we can make to them towards greater neuroinclusion.

By better understanding the concept of neurodiversity; and the behavioural and environmental adjustments we can all make to support current and future neurodivergent colleagues, partners and customers; we ultimately create more open and inclusive cultures to the benefit of everyone.

Expect an immersive and actionable experience

What we'll cover:

• Defining neurodiversity and the neurodiversity paradigm
• Specific neurodivergent conditions: Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia
• Strengths based approaches
• Neurodiversity and the Equalities Act of 2010
• Proactive Vs reactive adjustments
• Strategies for everyday neuroinclusion

How the session will be structured

Led by Dr. Anne Cockayne and a YCN coach-facilitator we'll combine some thought provoking exercises, expert insights and group conversation for sharing perspectives. And we'll facilitate conversation around some real-world case studies drawing on interactions between managers and neurodivergent team members. We'll include some smaller breakout group exploration and discussion.

Who the session is for

The session will be especially helpful for people-managers, whether currently managing a neurodivergent team member or not. And anyone curious about the topic is very welcome to join.
